Building an HR platform from scratch.
heyday started with a clear ambition: make employee perks and benefits feel simple, personal and genuinely useful. For many companies, benefits are one of the ways they show care, support and appreciation for their teams. In practice, that value often gets lost.
Perks, budgets and benefits can sit across different tools, documents and internal processes making them difficult to understand and actually use. The problem was that the experience around those investments often felt fragmented, generic or disconnected from employees’ everyday lives. People did not always know what they had access to, what was relevant to them or how to make the most of it.
heyday set out to change that by creating a more personal, intuitive and engaging way for employees to discover the benefits available to them and make better use of what their company already provides.

From “ask HR” to an effortless product experience.
As the founding designer, the role was to shape heyday from the ground up — from its visual identity to the full web app experience. That meant translating a complex ecosystem of personalized benefits into a platform that felt clear, intuitive and genuinely useful for employees.
The design work started with the fundamentals: understanding the product vision, mapping the core user journeys and defining how employees would discover, understand and use their benefits. From there the product took shape through wireframes, prototypes, interface design and continuous iteration with the founders, engineering team and users.
A key focus was removing friction from every step of the experience. The platform needed to feel approachable from the first login, guide users without overwhelming them and make personalized perks feel easy to access rather than like another admin task.

Alongside the product, the brand identity was designed to give heyday a bold and optimistic presence. The goal was to create a visual language that felt fresh and distinctive, while still supporting a product experience built around clarity and trust.
Because the product was built from scratch, every decision mattered — from information architecture and onboarding to visual design, interaction patterns and the overall tone of the platform. Close collaboration with engineering made it possible to move quickly, test ideas and refine the experience as the product evolved.
The result was a cohesive product and brand foundation for a platform designed to make employee benefits easier to understand, easier to use and more connected to people’s everyday needs.
