Making vehicle sharing effortless.

Proshare set out to make van rental feel as easy as ordering a ride. Whether someone was moving apartments, picking up furniture, transporting equipment or handling a job on site, the goal was to remove the friction usually associated with renting a vehicle: agency opening hours, paperwork, unclear pricing and complicated handovers.

With Proshare, users could download the app, find a nearby vehicle and unlock a Volkswagen van directly from their phone. The experience needed to feel immediate, reliable and simple — especially for people who needed transport quickly and did not want to deal with the traditional rental process.

Designing for users on site, in a rush and on the move.

As the second designer at the company, I had the exciting opportunity to design the mobile app and contribute to the web app. The collaboration focused on designing a new mobile-first car-sharing experience for different vehicle types. In the early phase the product was primarily aimed at construction companies and workers, which brought a clear design challenge: the app had to work for users who might not be highly comfortable with digital tools.

The app needed to be robust, incredibly easy to navigate and accessible to users with minimal experience in digital tools. That meant every interaction had to be obvious, practical and resilient. Vehicle selection, booking, pricing, access and keyless pickup all needed to feel straightforward, even in real-world conditions where users might be in a rush, on site or using the app for the first time.

This process involved regular collaboration with the product owner and brand designer, as well as close alignment with four skilled software engineers to bring the designs to life. Together, we tackled challenges like simplifying vehicle selection, streamlining the booking process and ensuring the interface was as intuitive as possible. The result was a product that not only met the needs of our target audience but also set a foundation for expanding the service to new markets and user groups.
